About this Project
This blog is a record of my journey as I write my first novel. You’ll find posts looking at the writing and editing process, detailing the challenges and joys of writing, and reporting on my progress as I work through the Humber School for Writers.
It’s also an experiment in dialogue. I’d love to hear from other writers and readers. Please, leave comments so we can have a discussion, Tweet me (@NovelBuild), or email me.
Brief Summary of Novel
Darby Swank is a twenty-one-year-old waitress who’s recently moved back to her father’s farm in west-central Saskatchewan. When she discovers the body of her Aunt Bea, her summer derails. Assorted natural disasters and social mayhem soon follow.

So proud of you, Guenther (and a little jealous…I wish I had the patience to write)! Can’t wait to read it.

Awesome way to record the journey of novel writing huh? I am doing the same thing over at my blog, but I’ve got my novel-writing stuff mixed in with all sorts of other random observations and techno-geek stuff too. (I am a stylish geek by trade). I just finished up my query letter and summary stuff and now I am shopping agents. I’d love to keep up a dialog with you as it looks like we’re both new to this strange world of fiction. Good luck and keep posting! I am definitely adding you to the blogroll. Take care!

Hi Bill,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you…I kind of fell off the face of the earth for a while, at least as far as this blog is concerned.
What’s the url for your blog?

Hey Lisa. I am over at BillGreeves.com. I’ve got some posts on writing mixed in with a bunch of geeky govt stuff, but I’d welcome any feedback and input! Take care and good luck on getting back into the game!

Hi Bill,
Just checked out your site. We have a lot in common – I also consult for government organizations (in Canada) on communications – lots of contract writing, but I’m also interested in the web 2.0 stuff, and how it can help gov’t better serve citizens.
I’ll be following your blog. Good luck with everything!
