I’ve been editing my novel lately. I took a part-time summer job which allows me to work on my novel, or any other writing I have. I’ve been joking that it may be the most I ever get paid for my creative writing.
I think the editing has been going well, for the most part, lately. My characters are fuller, my plot stronger. But I don’t know if I will ever be totally satisfied.I’m not sure if I can close the gap between what’s in my head and what’s on the page, and ultimately bring the story to life in readers’ minds.
My friend, Lauren, who blogs over at Niftynotcool.com, posted a quote on this gap on Facebook. I think it describes how I feel very well, although I wonder if the gap will ever close.
